8 Sim Challenge – Days 7 Through 10

DAYS 7-10 of the Eight Sim Challenge

For the next few days, I spent time getting the Sims working on skills that were needed to advance. Not only did they eventually get promoted, but some nice things happened along the way!

DAY SEVEN
For her heroic efforts as an Executive Assistant, Emma was rewarded a 1, 000 bonus! This caused the cash balance to go up to 7, 934.

EMMA: I rock!

MICHAEL: Are you sure that’s *all* you did to get the bonus, Emma?

EMMA: What are you suggesting, perv?

MICHAEL: What? (*devious smile*) I didn’t say nuthin’! >:-D>

DAY EIGHT
Day Eight saw many sweet promotions. Eleanor, after earning many body points, was promoted to drill instructor, making her the official breadwinner of the house, with a salary of 400/day!

GERALD: Dang! I used to be the solid breadwinner! 🙁

ELEANOR (shrugging): Sorry. 🙁

Cassie also became promoted– to rookie– after earning several body points! Between the two of them, the cash balance jumped to 9, 255 Simoleans.

MICHAEL: You got promoted before me?! I worked my butt off to advance!

CASSIE: Hey– I can’t help it if you suck!

MICHAEL: Geez! Who do I have to sleep with to get a promotion around here!

JENNY (*scared look*): Don’t look at me!

Also on Day Eight, to add a little variety, I gave Jenny a new job as a waitress.

DAY NINE
Day Nine saw another promotion, with Michael being promoted to rookie.

MICHAEL: Finally!

CASSIE: Hmmm… so how’d you do it, Mike? Paid off the coach? Got your rich parents to slip someone a few hundred bucks? How?

MICHAEL: Ooh! Someone sounds jealous! Hahahahaha! In yer face, Pippi Longstocking!

CASSIE: Oh, leave me alone before I give you a knuckle sandwich!

MICHAEL: You wouldn’t dare!

EMMA (*rolling eyes*): Oh, puh-lease! Would you two just get in the sack already?! All of this sexual tension masking as fighting is driving me crazy!!!

I agree! Cut it out, you two!

DAY 10
Day 10 was a bumper crop. Emma not only got promoted, but Eleanor also found a rare Simolean coin worth about $1150. The cash balance jumped to $16, 483!

EMMA: Good job!

ELEANOR: Yeah– too bad I chipped a tooth trying to find out if it was authentic or not! 🙁

Days 11-17 of the Eight Sim Challenge

DAY 11
I started to work on gaining friends for the house, as all of our guys needed at least 1 friend to advance in their careers. Here you can see Jenny getting her groove on with Jake Flatmates, who lives across the street!

JENNY: I really like this part of the Challenge! *teehee!*

CASSIE: Don’t like it *too* much, Jenny. After all, we don’t want you adding a ninth member to this family! 😉

JENNY: 8-O!

DAY 12
There were no promotions today, but the house received a lovely cash bonus. Cassie won “Rookie of the Year” and earned the house $3, 000!

MICHAEL: What?! How’d she get Rookie of the Year?!

CASSIE: In yer face, Pretty Boy! Bwaaahhhhahahahaha!

MICHAEL: Oh, man! 🙁

In other important news, Jenny finally worked her charms and earned a friend for the house.

CASSIE: Good job, Jenny– taking one for the team! *wink! wink! smile*

JENNY (mortified): WHHHATTTT??? *blush* *blush*

Cash balance: $21, 040! =-)

DAY 13
Jenny earned a promotion and was promoted to Extra in her new career track. Justin was promoted to Tabloid Writer! Cash Balance: 24, 049 Simoleans.

DAYS 14-15
Gerald got promoted to Tabloid Writer! Cash balance: 28, 101 Simoleans!

DAY 16
Eleanor got promoted to Junior Officer in the career track of military. Torvald was also promoted, this time to Tabloid Writer. Cash balance: 31, 136! =-)

ELEANOR: Yay! Let’s hear it for TORVALD! (everyone claps)

TORVALD (smiling politely): Zhank you! Zhank you very much all… for nice orgasm! You are all much sexy mit big jugs und… how you say…? nipples!

ELEANOR: What???

TORVALD: Oh– so sorry… ehm… vhat is verd…? you are all very… polite and delicious!

EMMA: Alright… who’s been giving Torvald bad Simlish translations again?

CASSIE (yelling): MICHAEL!!!!!!

DAY 17
Jenny became promoted to Bit Player and Emma got promoted in her career track of Business!

DAY 16: TIME FOR UPGRADES!

Alright, let’s slow things down a bit once again now that things are going so well in the experiment and return to it in *real time.*

It’s all well and good that all of our guys are getting promoted. But because of all the career advancement, everyone is starting to work the same shift. Well, this is getting a bit troublesome, as you can see here, especially in the mornings. So, with 33, 299 in the bank, I’m figuring it’s time for another upgrade… some major, super-duper upgrades.

CASSIE: Really?!

Yup– we’re talking beds, a second story, the whole 9 yards…

CASSIE: YAY!

Before upgrading the house, let’s take one more look at the house that our guys have been living in for the past two and a half Sim weeks.

And here is a reminder of the inside of the house… Remember, it was a one bedroomed, 1 bathroom, 4 roomed house– hardly worth living in.

Alright, so let’s take a look at how I’ve upgraded it!

Taa-Daa! And here we are! I finally built a second story to our house and upgraded the windows. Also, I was getting so sick and tired of the aluminum siding that I upgraded to this nice brick patterned house, giving it a warm feel.

GERALD (whistling): Sweet!

TORVALD: Ist… our house?

CASSIE: Yup!

TORVALD: Bootylicious!

CASSIE: Michael! Are you feeding Torvald bad Simlish translations again?

MICHAEL: Nope… that thing he just said was all *him!*

Here is a shot of what the second floor looks like. As you can see here, I added two more bedrooms, several beds, more furnishings, a 2nd lounge area and a 2nd bathroom. The cash balance went down to 18, 467 after purchases, but the family worth is now in the 40K region!

EMMA: 40K?! Wow!

CASSIE: We really did a good job! And, boy– look at this place! It’s da bomb!

EMMA: Speaking of “bombs,” who cut one? (looks at Michael with suspicion)

MICHAEL: What?

JENNY: This place looks really nice– almost like a loft!

EMMA (sadly): Yeah– too bad we can’t stay here… it’s wayyy better than our dorms!

Not only did I build a second story and upgrade the front of the house, I also remodeled the first floor! As you can see here, no more fugly wallpapers, shag carpeting and cheesy couches. I also added better sinks, to make up for the Portapotty, which drops hygiene considerably. (And yes– before you do a double take– this is exactly the same living room/ kitchen that you’ve been looking at all this time, just with new wallpapers, flooring, and furniture. It’s amazing what new decor can do to a place, ain’t it?)

EMMA: Yeah, you can say that again! =-)

Alright, with our first major upgrade finished, let’s do another “fast forward” in this presentation and immediately jump to the last few days of our experiment as it comes to a close.
