Greetings, Simmers! After the release of Pottersville (s) 2.1, The Sims Depot is proud to announce the development of its latest Sims 3 world, San Marina!
San Marina=If Bridgeport and Starlight Shores had a Baby 😉
San Marina will be yet another large-scale urban world, but with a twist. Imagine a more expanded version of Starlight Shores, with a Bridgeport-style Downtown and five very distinct sub-hoods (luxury, industrial/gritty, entertainment, rural, and suburban), criss-crossed with a series of sunken highways:
Right now, San Marina is 80% complete, both in terms of testing and builds. However, progress has been steady and there are no doubts that it will be released in Summer 2024. To get a taste of what’s in store, below is a video preview:

Hello..:) I just happen to run accross your site. A few minutes ago I read EA is stopping sims 3 and we can no longer play. I have a CAW world about 80% done as well and can go no further as neither will run anymore. How are you getting around this? Grateful for any help you can offer. THX

See my response below.
Hi, I just read Sims can no longer be played after 3/24, Have you found a way ? I havn’t been able to play CAW for a couple years. I have a BIG CAW world 80% finished and can no longer finish it. Not right after I bought everything they had on sims 3 so I could use it.. If you have found a work around I would really appreciate some help. THX Barb
Hi there!
I’m not sure what’s meant by The Sims not being playable after 3/24. That sounds like someone might’ve been posting fake news. Where did you hear that?
As for CAW, you only have two options at this point:
1. Buy old copies of the game to downgrade Sims 3 to patch 1.67 and get off EA App altogether.
2. Rebuy everything on Steam and use registry hack to get CAW to work.
I posted a tutorial about going to the all-disc version here:
https://www.thesimsdepot.com/2023/04/07/join-the-1-67-club-new-guide-for-sims-3-players-having-trouble-with-ea-app/
Unfortunately, both of these options requires spending more money, so you could hold out hope that EA will fix this issue or maybe get a petition started to get EIG reinstated, since it’s not fair that it pulled the rug out from under the feet of worldbuilders like this.
