WORLD DESCRIPTION:
Once a quiet, small 19th century fishing village, Oceanview is now a booming urban metropolis attracting scores of out of towners to its shores. While some Oceanview residents are happy to see their town transformed into a hip cultural center, the village's oldest families are unhappy having to deal with the influx of obnoxious hipsters, Yuppie snobs, and trust fund babies who they feel are ruining their quaint way of life. Will the old and new families of Oceanview ever see eye to eye, or will they forever be locked in a battle over their fair city?

RELEASE NOTES [May 2025]:
This is a remastered version of Oceanview, which was released ages ago (2014!) and needed a lot of fine tuning and updating. The new remastered version is pretty much in keeping with the original version but with the following changes:

	1. Oceanview is now Island Paradise Ready™, meaning that players with IP can add houseboats along the shore lines, which had routing paint forbidding access.
	2. Terrain has been sculpted and painted for more realism.
	3. There is a new waterfall.
	4. Several new fully built and empty residential and community lots have been added. Explore Oceanview to discover where they are!
	5. Several pre-existing lots have been moved around to make room for empty lots: the Hoi Polloi Center, Festival Grounds, C-Ment Shoe Factory and Plumbot Pictures Backlot.
	6. The large lake behind the big hilltop has been opened up for fishing and swimming.
	7. Major interior and exterior renovations to several townhouses, starter homes and community lots.
	8. A few sims that were incorrectly exported with wrong hairstyles and outfits have been fixed, particularly the Heartbreak Hotel and Funnicello household.
	9. Most except the most stubborn routing issues have been fixed.
	10. Oceanview is more populated than ever, with several new households to further add to town lore, including some "old friends" that Sims 1 players may recognize!

1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
==========================================================

Oceanview Remastered is a large world of 170 lots. Because of this, it's only recommended for mid-range to high end systems that can handle large worlds like Boroughsburg and Los Aniegos.

Minimum Specs:

	A. 3.6 gHz quadcore
 	B. 8GB RAM
	C. Nvidia 1030 GT or equivalent and higher
	D. Standard hard drive

Optimal Specs:

	A. 3.6 gHz six-core CPU and up
	B. 8GB RAM
	C. AMD RX-6400 or equivalent and higher
	D. SSD drive (to speed up loading and save times)

2. CC REQUIREMENTS
==========================================================

NEEDED:

Riverview, a free world available from the official Sims 3 store, located here: https://store.thesims3.com/riverview.html

3. EPS NEEDED
==========================================================
The following are required, as most of the world is built using these EPs. They are rated from most (****) to least (*) important.

	A. Showtime ****
	B. Late Night ****
	C. Seasons ****
	D. Ambitions ***
	E. World Adventures ***
	F. Pets ***
	G. Generations ***

4. REQUIRED SPs
==========================================================
Fast Lane. A few households were created in CAS using this stuff pack. If you don't have it, nothing bad will happen. It's just that a few sims will look slightly different, and some houses will be missing motor scooters.

5. SUGGESTED GAMEPLAY
==========================================================

Three of the prewar buildings in Downtown have been converted into residential-style hotels (The Chadwicke, The Victoria, The Wickingham). Hire a maid and butler to add to the illusion that they're being serviced!

6. POTENTIAL ISSUES
==========================================================

STUCK SIMS ON BRIDGES
Sims will occasionally get stuck on bridges. There's nothing much I can do about this right now because this is a bug that came with Pets and Island Paradise and is hit and miss in terms of solving. There might be a fix in the future but I can't make any guarantees.

SIMULATION LAG

If you play Oceanview with all of the EPs, you might suffer Simulation Lag, which is when all of your sims in town will stand around as if they don't have free will. If you start seeing this, it's highly recommended that you turn off most population settings in Story Progression, except for celebrities.

SHOWTIME FREE WILL BUG
Sometimes a showbiz sim (acrobat, magician, singer) will suddenly stop having free will. Here's how you know there's an issue: you see a sim that is supposed to perform at a venue standing near a stage, but not moving or reacting to anything, and using the "resetsim" cheat does absolutely nothing to bring their free will back. To fix the free will issue, evict household, save the lot to bin, replace the lot and move sim back in.

SHOWTIME SOUND BUG

-Sometimes a showbiz sim (acrobat, magician, singer) will have a corrupt outfit, which will kill sound. If this happens with your sim, add a second career outfit.
-Sometimes, if a SimFest overlaps with a gig, sound will go out. However, once the SimFest and gig end, sound should return.
-For whatever reason, premade Showtime "big/live" venues (Hoi Polloi, Brotherhood of Fine Fellows and Binder Clips Center) will glitch, creating a bug. In this case, bulldoze, take a fresh copy of the venue from Starlight Shores and replace. If worse comes to worse, you might just have to go without these venues but that's for the worst case scenario.

BIKE BELL BUG
This is an age old bug that was never patched. If sound goes out because of this issue, get rid of any bikes you may have given any sims in town.

7. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
==========================================================

Do not, under any circumstances, archive, reshare or resell this world. I spend a lot of time on my worlds and don't need them "archived" on your website or platform, since The Sims Depot.com is still active and will be in the unforeseeable future.

8. DONATE!
==========================================================

Although maintaining TheSimsDepot.com and creating content for The Sims is a labor of love, it takes a lot of time, effort and money to host the website. Ad revenue has dried up, so if you'd like to donate, you can paypal.me/ts1depot.

Thanks to all who donated to The Sims Depot so far! <3
