Getting Money the Hard Way
How can I afford that nice, big, beautiful mansion for $50, 000+ some odd dollars in the neighborhood screen, if my family only starts out with $20, 000 to begin with?!
Quite simple. You have to make the family *work* for it, just like in real life! So have your family buy a cheap house within their budget, then when the family worth is high enough, have them move to that big, beautiful, house on the hill!
I don’t want my dirt poor sims to sweat and grind their way to the top. I want them to be instantly rich. How?
To give your sims lots of money, use the Rosebud cheat. To do that, press Ctrl+Alt+C. Then type in “rosebud” to get 1,000 simoleans. If you want more, type “;!” as many times as you want after rosebud. So, for example, if you want to give your sims an extra 5,000, type in “rosebud ;!;!;!;!;”.
I’m tired of waking my Sim up every morning for work. Is there anything I can do?
Yes– buy an alarm clock (located in Buy Mode>Electronics), then make sure you have the Sim set it before he or she goes to bed. (Don’t worry– the Sim only has to do it once.) Every morning, he’ll then be woken up two hours before his carpool.
My Sim can’t call a neighbor over because that neighbor’s name isn’t showing up as an option on the menu. Why?
Because your Sim hasn’t met that neighbor in person yet. Sims can only call over people who they have met at least once. So if you want a neighbor’s name to appear as an option when a Sim wants to call him over, you have to make that Sim greet/ meet him first. You can do that by either waiting for the neighbor to drop by for a visit; going Downtown (if you have Hot Date) and trying to meet the neighbor there; or waiting for the neighbor to walk past the house. (You’ll notice that at various times of the day, random neighbors will walk past the house.) If you see the neighbor, just click on him and choose “greet.” Afterwards, his name should show up on the call list next time your Sim picks up the phone.
I just threw a party and one of these people, Pete/Paulette Dropinsky showed up. Who the heck are they?!
Pete and Paulette Dropinsky are two annoying NPCs (House Party EP) who crash parties. Be careful with these guys, because they’re very rude and destructive. Sometimes they’ll tease your guests, guzzle drinks out of your vending machine, stop up the toilet, and even break your television set, costing you a fortune in repair bills! If you see them, just ask them to leave. I have to warn you– it takes a lot of tries to get rid of them; sometimes they’ll leave and come right back!
My guests are so rude! They’re booing my Sim when she plays piano or guitar! What gives?
They’re booing because your Sim sucks at playing piano or guitar and they’re not enjoying her performance. If you want your guests to not be so rude, you have to boost her creativity points past a certain level in order for them to like what they hear (at least 4 points). Otherwise, they’ll keep booing and razzing her.
How can I throw a great house party?
To throw a great house party, make sure you’ve placed plenty of food, hire a DJ and have enough fun objects to keep your guests entertained.
